Lori Cottingham, LCSW
Education & Treatment Approach
Lori received her Bachelor of Science in Health Professions and Education from the University of Arkansas in 2003. She went on to receive her Masters of Social Work with an Emphasis on Mental Health also from the University of Arkansas in 2005. Lori has a gentle therapeutic approach full of compassion, empathy, and support as she helps her patients work through a variety of mental health concerns. She has some training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy which can be helpful in building coping skills to help self-regulate and self-soothe through difficult or overwhelming emotions.

With over 20 years of experience, Lori has a variety of experience and clinical skills she can tap into to help you meet your personal goals. Lori has a gentle therapeutic approach full of compassion, empathy, and support as she helps her patients work through a variety of mental health concerns. She is trained to address and treat anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, stress, trauma, and women’s specific issues. She is also passionate about supporting her patients in their journeys to build self-esteem, explore work related stress, parenting stress, and building confidence and compassion within themselves. She is well equipped to support children aged 12 and older and has experience & training in play therapy techniques that support children who may struggle with just traditional talk therapy techniques.

NWA Therapy would like to welcome our newest team member Lori Cottingham! Lori is a long time resident of Lori is now scheduling children 12 and older and adults for in office appointments. She also offers services remotely through video/remote telehealth sessions. In her personal life, she likes to read, spend time with her children, and enjoys living life outside in nature. Lori has immediate openings for new patients and would love to support you in your wellness journey.
